OUR PROCESS

What goes into a furnace replacement project?

At Comfort Club, we understand that replacing a home’s furnace system is a significant investment and a critical decision for your family’s comfort and safety. Our experienced technicians follow a thorough, step-by-step process to ensure a seamless and efficient installation, tailored to your unique needs.

From First Estimate to First Heat Cycle

A furnace replacement is gas, electrical, ductwork, and code — done in one day, in your home, often in winter. Here's exactly what we do, and the order we do it in.

  1. 1

    In-Home Assessment & Manual J Load Calculation

We measure the home — square footage, insulation, window exposure, duct geometry — and calculate the actual heat load. Furnaces fail when they're guessed at. We don't guess. You leave the visit with a written, all-in estimate and three equipment options across efficiency tiers.

  2. 2

    Permits Pulled, Equipment Ordered

We pull the mechanical permit with your city — every time, no exceptions. Your Lennox furnace is ordered, and we lock in an install date that fits your week. No mystery on timing.

  3. 3

Site Prep & Old System Removal

Drop cloths and floor protection from the front door to the equipment. Gas, electrical, and thermostat are shut off and locked out. The old furnace is disconnected, hauled out, and disposed of — no driveway pile, no extra fee.

  4. 4

New Furnace Set, Connected, and Sealed

Unit set level on pad or platform. Plenum and duct transitions cut and mastic-sealed — not taped. New gas flex connector and shutoff. Flue venting installed to spec (PVC for condensing units, B-vent for 80% AFUE). Condensate drain routed and trapped. Line voltage and 24V control wiring landed clean. New filter rack and filter in place.

  5. 5

Startup, Combustion Analysis & Safety Verification

Gas pressure verified at the manifold with a manometer. Combustion analyzer reads CO and flue gases — the only way to confirm the furnace is burning clean. Temperature rise checked across the heat exchanger. Limit switch, flame sensor, and pressure switches all tested under live conditions.

  6. 6

    Walk-Through, Photos & Warranty Registration

We walk you through the new system — filter location, thermostat operation, what to listen for, what to never ignore. Before-and-after photos go in your file. Manufacturer warranty registered the same day, on time, so coverage holds.

  7. 7

City Inspection & 30-Day Quality Check

We meet the city inspector at your home — you don't have to be there. Thirty days in, we call to confirm everything's running the way it should. If it isn't, we come back. That's the whole standard.

CUSTOMER STORIES

What DFW homeowners are saying

★★★★★

“Chris came out and fixed an issue that a prior Air Duct Cleaning company messed up — and within 5 minutes of being there he was able to address the issue and get our AC up and running (on a Friday at 5 nonetheless). Chris waived the service call fee, which really meant a lot to my wife and I.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Questions homeowners ask us most

How often should I have my air ducts cleaned?+
The NADCA recommends professional cleaning every 3 to 5 years for most homes. Households with pets, smokers, recent renovations, allergy sufferers, or homes near construction may benefit from more frequent service.
How long does an air duct cleaning take?+
Most jobs take 2 to 4 hours depending on the size of your home, the number of vents, and the condition of your system. We’ll give you an accurate time estimate during the in-home inspection.
Will duct cleaning really help with allergies?+
Yes — for many households. Removing built-up dust, dander, pollen, and mold spores from your ductwork reduces what gets recirculated through your home every time the HVAC kicks on. Most allergy-sensitive customers notice a difference within the first week.
Do you move furniture or make a mess?+
We protect your floors and furniture before we start, work cleanly with HEPA-filtered equipment, and leave your home cleaner than we found it. You don’t need to move anything yourself.
How much does air duct cleaning cost in DFW?+
Pricing depends on the number of vents and the condition of your system. We provide upfront, transparent pricing after a free in-home inspection — no hidden fees or surprise upcharges. Call (972) 673-0408 for a free quote.
Are you licensed and insured?+
Yes. 1st Class Heat & Air is fully licensed, bonded, and insured in the State of Texas. Our technicians are certified and background-checked.

THE COMPLETE GUIDE

Everything Dallas homeowners should know about air duct cleaning

Every time your HVAC runs, air cycles through your home — picking up dust, pet dander, pollen, and allergens along the way. What you and your family breathe depends on how clean that system is. 1st Class Heat & Air offers two complementary clean air services that tackle indoor air from both sides.

Service 1: Indoor Air Quality Solutions

UV purifiers, HEPA filtration upgrades, whole-house humidifiers, and Reme Halo air scrubbers. These IAQ systems sit inside your existing HVAC and continuously treat the air as it circulates — stopping allergens, mold spores, and viruses before they ever reach your family. Read about Indoor Air Quality about our Indoor Air Quality services →

Service 2: Professional Air Duct Cleaning

Truck-mounted negative-air equipment and rotary brushes physically remove pounds of dust, dander, and debris that have built up inside your duct system. Not a shop vac, not chemical masking — real source-level cleaning that makes every room measurably cleaner. See our duct cleaning process →

Why Pair Both Services?

Duct cleaning removes what’s already built up; IAQ equipment prevents new buildup and continuously purifies. Bundle both and you get the deepest-clean indoor air possible — which is exactly what most of our Plano, Frisco, and McKinney customers choose.
